Couples Counseling
Navigating life with your partner can be challenging. In couples counseling, I use a hybrid approach combining two methods: Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method. EFT focuses on attachment and learning how to identify and express your needs; the Gottman method teaches you how to strengthen your friendship foundation and productively resolve conflict. Additionally, in couples counseling, we will work on communication skills, validation, empathy and encouragement of your partner.
Individual Counseling
Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain situations. With individual counseling I will help you identify positive ways to navigate life's challenges through developing new skills, learning better ways of self-care, setting effective boundaries, and utilizing your community of support.
Child & Family Counseling
In child and family counseling my primary goal is two pronged: coach kids on how to effectively overcome hardship; and secondly help parents implement new tools to better support their family.
To assist with this, I am a strong proponent for family counseling, where family members collectively participate in order to learn and grow together. During this process, I help children and parents learn how to communicate effectively, diffuse conflict, and manage the stressors of school, sports and family dynamics.
